COMENITY PAY CP WEB PYMT (2024)

What is it?

This is a charge made through a company called Comenity, which provides stores with branded credit cards. Comenity is part of Bread Financial, a financial services company that offers personalized payment, lending and savings services.

People in the comments below report it being used by the following stores:

  • Big Lots
  • Pier One
  • David's Bridal
  • Academy Sports

Bread Financial and/or Comenity may call, text or email you in response to account questions or concerns, if your account is past due, or with marketing and servicing messages. The company says it will never ask for sensitive information through email or text. They may ask you to verify your identity over the phone, and they may also send texts to your mobile number with ID verification codes or to contact you about a past-due account.

Why this charge may appear on your card

You're likely seeing this charge because you made a payment to a business that uses Comenity for its credit cards. If you didn't make this payment, it's possible someone else did, which may be an early indication of fraud.

What can you do?

If you don't recognize the charge, you can contact your bank or credit card company and dispute the charges and try to recover the money. Your credit card should have a phone number on the back you can call for customer service.

I just checked my bank account on line and i see where $1,145.96 was taken from my account by COMENITY PAY CP WEB PYMT. I have never delt with this before, don't know what it is. I do see where places such as Big Lots and a few other places were doing this and im guessing when people make a purchase at the store and i did use my card at Big Lots recently.I will be reporting this to my bank 1st thing when they open in the morning.

I work at a bank and my job is dealing with fraudulent claims. These transactions are completely legit. Most department stores offer credit cards and when you make payments on those cards the transactions go through Comenity Pay.
